America's strongest open source model just dropped. Meta released Muse Spark Open: 816B total parameters, 42B active, 1M context. It runs away with the agentic tool-calling leaderboard (89.2 on MCP-Atlas, clear margin), but loses on Terminal-Bench, GPQA and SWE-bench style tasks to Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3. Meta also demoed a fully local end-to-end agentic workflow: two M5 Ultra Mac St Studios running the whole model on MLX. The license has a catch though. Once your model API business clears $20M in revenue, you owe Meta a separate deal, and your interface has to carry a "Built with Muse Spark Open" badge.

GLM-5.3-Flash is now in OpenCode's free tier.

Only 200k context though, so my guess is it's a quantized build running on their own hardware.

I wrote a prompt, put it on an hourly schedule, and ended up with something close to Muse's proactive messaging. The quality on Hermes genuinely surprised me: it only reaches out when it actually has high-value stuff to send. Can't show it in action without leaking personal info, but the prompt is yours to copy — schedule it and see what you get.

I stuffed an agent into an Android phone.

You've probably run into those short videos lately where an agent drives a phone around by itself. This one is called Mika, and it's a free open-source project. It's an Android app that works in the background through accessibility mode, so it can use pretty much any other app you have installed. Reply to someone on WeChat, scroll Xiaohongshu, drop something in a cart and check out. It finds the buttons by looking at the screen. My product went profitable, and something in me broke.

Someone on Xiaohongshu posted a while back that she sells phone keyboard skins she made with Codex. Eight, ten yuan a pack. Over a thousand a month. I've been at mine for months.
