Stole this one from a Japanese dev: keep grok-bot running

DeepSeek just shipped V4.1-Flash-1017.
Benchmarks all moved up: Terminal-Bench 4.0 from 31.2 to 42.3, ProgramBench 20.3 to 29.1, Apex Bench 64.6 to 72.1, DeepSWE 74.2 to 77.0. Runs finish quicker now, and the answers come out shorter. They tuned it for DeepSeek Harness, Tencent CodeBuddy and WorkBuddy, and you need Harness 0.2.1-rc.1 or newer to get the most out of it. Nothing else changed. Same price, same model name, still deepseek-flash, 1M context, 384K max output. Your code doesn't move.

Muse's models are dumb.
Meta open-sourced Muse Spark Open today, and I hear it's getting handed down to Muse AI, which should patch the model that's currently dragging the product down. As a product, Muse is good. As a daily assistant it's actually useful. Complex engineering work is where it falls apart. It forgets things, won't search the web for anything outside its own head, insists on building from scratch what already exists, and quits halfway when things get slow. I asked it to make TUN mode compatible with Tailscale. It went off on its own and wrecked my network. The actual answer is three steps: turn TUN on, bypass Tailscale, kill Tailscale's DNS. Then I asked it to migrate my config and it lost my API keys. I threw both jobs at Manus's cue. Painfully slow, but it solved them, and it solved them the same way I would have.

I stuffed an agent into an Android phone.
You've probably run into those short videos lately where an agent drives a phone around by itself. This one is called Mika, and it's a free open-source project. It's an Android app that works in the background through accessibility mode, so it can use pretty much any other app you have installed. Reply to someone on WeChat, scroll Xiaohongshu, drop something in a cart and check out. It finds the buttons by looking at the screen. There's no API to wire up, and it doesn't care what resolution your phone is. When it reaches a payment step or a captcha it stops and lets you finish. 🔗 github.com/wangzan101/Mika

My product went profitable, and something in me broke.
Someone on Xiaohongshu posted a while back that she sells phone keyboard skins she made with Codex. Eight, ten yuan a pack. Over a thousand a month. I've been at mine for months. October: a few hundred copies, $1,200 gross. Platform fee 30%, tax 10%, so 60% should have landed. It came to just over a thousand dollars. I still don't know how the math pulled that off. I have an overseas bank account. Once lost $500 to a wire transfer off one. I'd still tell you to take payout through WorldFirst: less hassle, lower fees. You can also get a Hong Kong USD credit card tied to it that spends your WorldFirst balance directly. Digital card is free. Physical is $4. Mainland purchases under ¥200 skip the processing fee, and right now there's 1% cashback.
