Apple reported its best fiscal year for revenue and earnings per share in a strong September quarter. The company’s executives mentioned artificial intelligence 45 times on the earnings call to highlight the technology’s role in the results. CFO Kevan Parekh stated that AI offers a compelling reason for customers to upgrade their devices.

The iPhone revenue rose 17.5% to $57.6 billion during the period. Mac revenue climbed 24% to $10.8 billion, marking the segment’s highest level in four years. Apple spent $2.2 billion on capital expenditures last quarter to support these operations. John Ternus also noted that features relying on server-side models will have usage limits.

Several companies are adopting Apple’s hardware for AI workflows, including Gap and Christie’s. Gap runs AI entirely on Mac Mini computers for loss prevention, while Christie’s uses local models on Mac Studio machines. Apple is reportedly on pace to bring in more than $1 billion in App Store fees from generative AI apps in 2026. This shift shows how hardware choices are shaping the business of AI tools.
